How Nevada PEP Helps

1.  Nevada PEP is a nonprofit organization that provides information, services and training to Nevada families of children with disabilities.  Nevada PEP developed and operates Nevada’s Statewide Family Network. Family Specialists can help you find information, support and resources, provide compassion and understanding of the unique experiences and needs of your child and family, and assist you to advocate for your child and family to access support and services to help at home, in the community and at school.   Nevada PEP provides their services for FREE

2.  Nevada PEP is the National Federation of Families for Children’s Mental Health Chapter in Nevada and the outreach partner in Nevada for the National Institute of Mental Health.   By offering FREE services, their Family Specialists can help you find information, support and resources, provide compassion and understanding of the unique experiences and needs of your child and family, and assist you to advocate for your child and family to access support and services to help at home, in the community and at school.

3.  Nevada PEP FREE services are about empowering families to be life-long advocates for their children through education and skill building. PEP recognizes that parents are experts on their children; and must learn about disabilities, intervention needs, and how to develop a support system to meet those needs.

4.    If you suspect that your child has a disability, please reach out to your school.  Nevada PEP can also assist for FREE and will explain the process of getting your child tested if you should suspect a disability. Also they have a resource library available and invite parents to come in and check out their books, videos and handouts.
